Series of zinc 10 centimes by Lindauer, small module (1944-1946)
This zinc 10 centimes coin, pierced with a central hole, was struck under the Provisional Government of the French Republic (1944-1946). After the Liberation, Edmond-Émile Lindauer's republican type, with the RF monogram and the Phrygian cap, replaced the type of the French State. The coin remained in zinc, for lack of a better metal, and kept the small module. It was struck in Paris, at Beaumont-le-Roger (letter B) and at Castelsarrasin (letter C), the letter being placed below the central hole. In 1945, Paris struck 38,174,000 pieces and Beaumont-le-Roger 7,246,000. The coin ceased to be legal tender on 20 March 1947.
Actual size compared with the 2 € and 1 € coins. Thickness: 1.3 mm.
