Series of 1 Reichspfennig with the sheaf of wheat (1923-1936)
This bronze 1 Reichspfennig coin belongs to the stable coinage of the Weimar Republic. After hyperinflation, the Rentenmark was introduced on 15 November 1923, at a rate of one trillion paper marks to one Rentenmark, then the gold-backed Reichsmark replaced it on 30 August 1924. Reinhard Kullrich's design, already used for the Rentenpfennig coins, shows the value surrounded by DEUTSCHES REICH on one side, and a sheaf of wheat dividing the figures of the date on the other. The type was struck until 1936. The 1930 date has 5,016,581 pieces in Karlsruhe.
Actual size compared with the 2 € and 1 € coins. Thickness: 1 mm.
