Series of 10 cents of William I with monogram (1818-1828)
This 10 cents coin in 569 thousandths silver belongs to the series struck from 1818 to 1828 in the name of William I, first King of the Netherlands. Instead of a portrait, it bears the King's crowned monogram W, which divides the figures of the date. At that time, the United Kingdom of the Netherlands created in 1815 still included the Belgian provinces, and the Brussels Mint struck the kingdom's coins alongside the Utrecht Mint until the Belgian Revolution of 1830. The reverse shows the crowned arms between the two parts of the value. The 1827 date was struck in 5,895,000 pieces at Utrecht and 1,711,486 at Brussels (B).
Actual size compared with the 2 € and 1 € coins. Thickness: 0.85 mm.
