The coin's story

This 1 øre coin in bronze, 95% copper, 4% tin and 1% zinc, was struck under Oscar II, King of Sweden and Norway from 1872 to 1905. The obverse bears the crowned shield with the Norwegian lion holding an axe, between the letters of the royal monogram. The reverse shows the value within a wreath. The type was struck from 1876 to 1902. The 1897 date has 3,000,000 pieces.
