The 2-øre coin was demonetized relatively early, in 1975, due to inflation, which may influence its availability in circulation. In numismatics, there are two main variants for this period (1959-1972), one with small inscriptions and the other with large inscriptions on the reverse, the 1971 variant being generally the one with large inscriptions.
