Series of 20 centavos with the cap of liberty (1920-1943)
This 20 centavos coin in 720 thousandths silver belongs to the series struck from 1920 to 1943 by the United Mexican States. Since the 1905 reform, the Mexico City Mint had been the country's only mint, hence the letter M between the figures of the value. The obverse bears the arms of Mexico: the eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus, devouring a serpent. The eagle's head divides the indication of fineness, 0.720. The reverse shows the radiant cap of liberty above the value and an oak and laurel wreath. The 1935 date has 2,460,000 pieces.
