Circulating coin

Circulating coin, part of the series of pennies of Edward VII (1902-1910). This date marks the end of this series and the last penny struck with the effigy of Edward VII.

The coin's story

The 1910 penny is a common date of the Edwardian period, struck in the year of the King's death. The reign of Edward VII was short (1901-1910) and these pennies are therefore less numerous than those of Victoria or George V. Like all pennies since 1860, it is in bronze (95% Cu) and keeps the dimensions of the coins of the previous era.
