Switzerland · 1938 · 2 rappenThe Swiss 2-rappen 1938 B coin was struck at a particularly tense moment in European and world history, just before the outbreak of World War II. The context is therefore that of a Switzerland on alert, seeking to preserve its neutrality and sovereignty in the face of external threats. The year 1938 is a period of great anxiety for Switzerland, caught between Nazi Germany under Hitler and Fascist Italy under Mussolini.
